Saturnino Elguero struck a weak shot in the 3rd minute. Francisco Vidal didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Montserrat. Danilo Cabrera received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Frutos Higuera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 8 minutes into the game, Montserrat's Saturnino Elguero nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Francisco Vidal made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. In the 11th minute, Egun Prats got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Egun Prats sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Romeo Mondejar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Saturnino Elguero's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 26thth minute, Francisco Vidal skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Saturnino Elguero sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Montserrat's Frutos Higuera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Egun Prats in the 38th minute of play. Danilo Cabrera sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Saturnino Elguero sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Hassan Vazquez made the kick off in the second half. In the 57th minute of the match, Danilo Cabrera got a very nice opportunity to score, but Frutos Higuera was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Saturnino Elguero sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 60th minute Saturnino Elguero shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Francisco Vidal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in San Fagundo AFC's zone, Hassan Vazquez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Francisco Vidal came out of the goal and Hassan Vazquez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Hassan Vazquez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Francisco Vidal having to interfere. Frutos Higuera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Egun Prats, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 72nd minute, Hassan Vazquez left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Montserrat fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hassan Vazquez in the 81st minute of play forced San Fagundo AFC's goalkeeper Francisco Vidal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Danilo Cabrera sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Montserrat booed when San Fagundo AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Veremundo Torrent didn't get a good kick on the ball. After recieving a nice pass, Montserrat's Florencio Canyelles tried to score from far away in the 89th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Montserrat were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of San Fagundo AFC for a fine match.
