Gamus Contreras received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Ponce Mayol tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Sotil Macho fell near the penalty area in the 24th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Fondarella CF's protests and gave Sotil Macho a yellow card for diving instead. Sotil Macho hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. If Loreto Gil had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 36 minutes into the match, Fondarella CF's Gamus Contreras sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ponce Mayol narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 37th minute Tolino Pedrosa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ponce Mayol saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gamus Contreras got free with Ponce Mayol in the 38th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Denis Casillas's late challenge caught a Fondarella CF's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Denis Casillas helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Fondarella CF booed when Llíber was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Denis Casillas didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fondarella CF's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Urtsua Castaño in the 42nd minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Llíber's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Fondarella CF the free kick. In the 53rd match minute, Llíber was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Isidoro Jaraba to maneuver through the defense. Luis Paredes ran back to his position shaking his head. After having played for 83 minutes, Gamus Contreras managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Fondarella CF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gamus Contreras was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Tolino Pedrosa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
