In the 6th minute, Galsino Menendez got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Pascual Salan hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. Cornelio Galdamez recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 13th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Michel Pena fell near the penalty area in the 14th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Perales Del Rio's protests and gave Michel Pena a yellow card for diving instead. If Leoncio Verdaguer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Leoncio Verdaguer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Bustablado getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Lonzo Crespo hit a great ball. After having played for 28 minutes, Cornelio Galdamez managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Perales Del Rio's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cornelio Galdamez was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cornelio Galdamez in the 32nd minute of play forced Bustablado's goalkeeper Aberri Mayol to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bustablado's Aberri Mayol played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cornelio Galdamez in the 37th minute of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Bustablado's supporters rose to their feet, but Leoncio Verdaguer was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Anton Alfaro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 85 minutes into the game, Severo Carmona was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Bustablado's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Perales Del Rio the free kick. In the 85th match minute, Bustablado was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Severo Carmona to maneuver through the defense.
