The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Donato Buenafuente during the 29th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Frisco Batuecas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cristiano Marquez having to interfere. Sergi Palacios's late challenge caught a Sant Pere's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Josu Gasso charged in rather forcefully in the 51st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Candido Marrero's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Cristiano Marquez read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 54th minute of play. In the 57th match minute, Masías AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nacho Zubiaga to maneuver through the defense. If Asteri Montaña had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 65 minutes into the match, Masías AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Josu Gasso came free, but Landolfo Villafane reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sant Pere's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Candido Marrero 70 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-1. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
