Plauto Zapico didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Karmel Villafane went, in the 15th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. René Cazorla took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jose-Luis Villa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Munio Quiroga came up free with the goalie in the 20th minute, the El Munts AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Munio Quiroga couldn't finish the play. Goikolexea SD's defense didn't have a chance, in the 30th minute, when Ioseba Ricoy scored to the left of an out of position Plauto Zapico, making the score, 2-0. Mark Beloki charged in rather forcefully in the 32nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Mark Beloki the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Goikolexea SD booed when El Munts AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mark Beloki didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 36th minute, Munio Quiroga got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
