The referee showed Iratze Huerta the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Mercadal SAD getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Guadalmar FC's Ubaldo Mora suffered a sore thigh after 15 minutes and couldn't finish the game. After 15 minutes, Tiburcio Cacheres mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Mercadal SAD and the Guadalmar FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Guadalmar FC booed when Mercadal SAD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tiburcio Cacheres didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mercadal SAD's Iosu Solana got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 23rd minute Iosu Solana shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sergi Elias saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Aristeo Aznar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 30th match minute, Mercadal SAD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rufio Coello to maneuver through the defense. Luis Lopez de Toro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Etor Jaen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Aristeo Aznar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Aristeo Aznar might have been able to make a better finish in the 36th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sergi Elias. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Aristeo Aznar ran back to his position shaking his head. The audience thought a goal was coming when Aristeo Aznar got free with Sergi Elias in the 40th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Iosu Solana to strike the kick off in the second half. Luis Lopez de Toro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Xaiver Marquez's late challenge caught a Mercadal SAD's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Xaiver Marquez helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Guadalmar FC's Xaiver Marquez got a free kick in the 58th minute. After having played for 62 minutes, Gil Balcells managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Guadalmar FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gil Balcells was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Aristeo Aznar might have been able to make a better finish in the 68th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sergi Elias. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Aristeo Aznar ran back to his position shaking his head. Sergi Elias showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aristeo Aznar, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. Guadalmar FC's Sergi Elias played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aristeo Aznar in the 87th minute of play. Xabier Duarte kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. After taking down the ball on Mercadal SAD's corner Aniol Prieto fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Sergi Elias quite easily take care of the ball. 92 minutes into the match, Iosu Solana had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Sergi Elias. Guadalmar FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Iosu Solana was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Mercadal SAD had won after a very even match.
