If Prudencio Molina had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cugat Acarreta made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Belmiro Zamora in the 21st minute of play. After some careless play in the Vilaplana Del Camp UD defense, Blai Vicente kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Xurde Idiaquez. The Vilaplana Del Camp UD fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Xurde Idiaquez should have stopped the shot. Cutberto Cardeñosa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Xurde Idiaquez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Blai Vicente in the 31st minute of play forced Vilaplana Del Camp UD's goalkeeper Xurde Idiaquez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cutberto Cardeñosa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Ramond Casals hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. Vilaplana Del Camp UD's Prudencio Molina got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 41 played minutes Areta got a freekick which was hit by Xarles Maestro. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Cutberto Cardeñosa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Areta's supporters rose to their feet, but Cutberto Cardeñosa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Xurde Idiaquez breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Prudencio Molina made a kick off. After a rather tough play, Areta's Xarles Maestro got a free kick in the 51st minute. In the 54th minute Cutberto Cardeñosa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Xurde Idiaquez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match clock showed 55 minutes, the score became 2-0 when Blai Vicente sped through Vilaplana Del Camp UD's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Xurde Idiaquez. Belmiro Zamora could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 60th minute of the match, but Cugat Acarreta made a huge save. After 62 played minutes Areta got a freekick which was hit by Marco-Antonio Canal. In the 68thth minute of the game Blai Vicente who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Vilaplana Del Camp UD's Xurde Idiaquez was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Xurde Idiaquez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cutberto Cardeñosa in the 77th minute of play. Vilaplana Del Camp UD's Xurde Idiaquez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Blai Vicente in the 84th minute of play. Cutberto Cardeñosa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Xurde Idiaquez read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 87th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vachon Odín in the 90th minute of play forced Areta's goalkeeper Cugat Acarreta to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Vilaplana Del Camp UD's Iker Arraz got a free kick in the 91st minute. 93 minutes into the match, Vilaplana Del Camp UD's goal looked a bit too open when Cutberto Cardeñosa came free, but Xurde Idiaquez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alano Font during the 96th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 96th match minute, Vilaplana Del Camp UD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alano Font to maneuver through the defense. Blai Vicente sent away a hard shot on goal in the 98th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Vilaplana Del Camp UD's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
