In the 9th minute Alvaro Alonso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Santana Ruiz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ugutz Landa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rosario Quintero in the 36th minute of play. Santana Ruiz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pedro Fonticoba, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. Fermín Saavedra struck a weak shot in the 47th minute. Ugutz Landa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lavadores CD. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Rosario Quintero made the kick off in the second half. After 51 played minutes Salvacañete got a freekick which was hit by Fernando Gonzáles. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Santana Ruiz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ugutz Landa made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Lavadores CD fans cheered their team off the field, for while Salvacañete had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
