The audience was convinced that Godofredo Sainz's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Romualdo Justo was relentless in the 7th minute of the game. When Silvino Irureta came up free with the goalie in the 9th minute, the Casetas AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Silvino Irureta couldn't finish the play. Romualdo Justo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gorka Noya in the 15th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Urigoiti's Godofredo Sainz slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Romualdo Justo. That made the score 1-0 after 16 minutes of play. Veto Romero blasted a shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Heriberto Alfaro having to make a save. Urigoiti's Heriberto Alfaro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Veto Romero in the 22nd minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Montxo Zapata during the 26th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 26th match minute, Casetas AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Montxo Zapata to maneuver through the defense. Romualdo Justo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Godofredo Sainz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Casetas AFC's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Godofredo Sainz 33 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 2-0. Heriberto Alfaro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Veto Romero, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Veto Romero in the 39th minute of play forced Urigoiti's goalkeeper Heriberto Alfaro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Che Elguero during the 39th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 40 played minutes Urigoiti got a freekick which was hit by Che Elguero. Heriberto Alfaro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Veto Romero in the 41st minute of play. Gorka Noya got in the 43rd a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Romualdo Justo handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. Veto Romero fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Heriberto Alfaro having to interfere. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Veto Romero to make the kick off. If Walme Canosa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Veto Romero received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Heriberto Alfaro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Gorka Noya had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Romualdo Justo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Godofredo Sainz's shot from short distance in the 70th minute. In the 71st minute the ball was on its way in behind Urigoiti's goalkeeper Heriberto Alfaro, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 73rd minute Veto Romero shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Heriberto Alfaro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Silvino Irureta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
