The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After some careless play in the Horizonte defense, Cruz Cifuentes kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jordi Griful. The Horizonte fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jordi Griful should have stopped the shot. Demesio Silvestre showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Xines Duarte, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. Guido Diaz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Jordi Griful tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Gerardo Guerrero had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Xines Duarte struck a weak shot in the 17th minute. Demesio Silvestre didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Horizonte. Arcadio Rosario received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Demesio Silvestre tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jordi Griful showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Abelardo De la Torre in the 44th minute of the match. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Cruz Cifuentes stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Gomesano Vuelta fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Jordi Griful, passed just outside the right post. Abelardo De la Torre fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jordi Griful having to interfere. The supporters of Horizonte booed when Banyos De Sant Joan was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alexandro España didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Arcadio Rosario in the 59th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Demesio Silvestre prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arcadio Rosario in the 78th minute of play forced Banyos De Sant Joan's goalkeeper Demesio Silvestre to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 88 minutes into the match, Horizonte's goal looked a bit too open when Cruz Cifuentes came free, but Jordi Griful reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 95th minute, Arrosko Sánchez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 97 played minutes, Banyos De Sant Joan's Alexandro España shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Jordi Griful came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Banyos De Sant Joan reached it. The Horizonte supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Banyos De Sant Joan's performance. The match ended with a win for Banyos De Sant Joan.
