The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After some fancy dribbling in the 5th minute, Lazaro Turienzo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Aratz Matximenta's supporters rose to their feet, but Lazaro Turienzo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Xoan Harroyo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a little luck, Aratz Matximenta's Frasco Camara got control of the ball when Anaya Bacete tried to sneak it across the goal line. The Aratz Matximenta fans' excitement grew in the 18th match minute when Aratz Matximenta's Lazaro Turienzo looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The referee ignored Garrigoles's protests and gave Marques Infante a yellow card for diving instead. In the 23rd match minute, Garrigoles was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marques Infante to maneuver through the defense. Frasco Camara made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Onofre Vera in the 27th minute of play. Aratz Matximenta's Sancho Reina got a good chance for a goal in the 47th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Asensio Rodriguez was the one to do the kick off. In the 52nd minute Asensio Rodriguez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Frasco Camara saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sancho Reina fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Xoan Harroyo having to interfere. In the 59th minute Gorka Medina shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Frasco Camara saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Despite this Xoan Harroyo quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Lazaro Turienzo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. In the 90th minute Anaya Bacete shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Frasco Camara saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Asensio Rodriguez came up free with the goalie in the 92nd minute, the Garrigoles fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Asensio Rodriguez couldn't finish the play. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Aratz Matximenta had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
