The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Blai Mayol had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 2nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Peio Ramirez struck a weak shot in the 11th minute. Veremundo Castillo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sou. The crowd rose to their feet as Blai Mayol kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Madaleno Hevia. That made the score 1-1 in the 18 minute of play. Alcadio Arias recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 21st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Veremundo Castillo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Peio Ramirez, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. In the 25th minute, Blai Mayol fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Veremundo Castillo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Canor Arraz in the 29th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ferrer Jauregui during the 30th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Ferrer Jauregui hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. Veremundo Castillo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Canor Arraz in the 39th minute of the match. Canor Arraz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Veremundo Castillo having to interfere. The supporters of Sou booed when Almeria was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ferrer Jauregui didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ioseba Cabrera to strike the kick off in the second half. Fiz Revuelta charged in rather forcefully in the 53rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Fiz Revuelta the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a defensive mix-up in Sou's zone, Maureo Gonzalez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Madaleno Hevia came out of the goal and Maureo Gonzalez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 58 played minutes Sou got a freekick which was hit by Selmo Borrás. Canor Arraz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Veremundo Castillo was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Peio Ramirez showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-2 in the 65 minute of play. Canor Arraz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Almeria's Domeka Palacios couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 78th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Sou. Ioseba Cabrera received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Madaleno Hevia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Madaleno Hevia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ioseba Cabrera, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Ioseba Cabrera had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the final whistle went the supporters of Sou were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant Almeria side.
