The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The audience was convinced that Frisco Rosas's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Felix Ricoy was relentless in the 5th minute of the game. Frisco Rosas struck a weak shot in the 12th minute. Felix Ricoy didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Amposta. Uriel Romero fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Felix Ricoy having to interfere. Frisco Rosas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Zalduondo AFC were awarded a corner in the 46th minute after Amposta's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Luis-Jose Rosario took the corner. After taking down the ball on Zalduondo AFC's corner Luis-Jose Rosario fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Tomualdo Palomar quite easily take care of the ball. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Oton Valdivia was the one to do the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 51st minute, Uriel Romero managed to get in a good position for a shot. Amposta's supporters rose to their feet, but Uriel Romero was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Felix Ricoy breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Amposta's Uriel Romero got a good chance for a goal in the 57th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Demetrio Aguilo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 61st minute of the match, but Tomualdo Palomar made a huge save. After 65 played minutes Zalduondo AFC got a freekick which was hit by Cresenciano Cabanela. After having played for 68 minutes, Uriel Romero managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Amposta's supporters crossed their fingers, but Uriel Romero was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Felix Ricoy made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Uriel Romero in the 72nd minute of play. Tomualdo Palomar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Oton Valdivia, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. Uriel Romero received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Felix Ricoy tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Demetrio Aguilo got free with Tomualdo Palomar in the 95th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
