Casimiro Abascal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Cornelio Gómez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 43 minutes, Quinito Rubio made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Magdalena's Cornelio Gómez tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Víctor Cabezas was the one to do the kick off. After a rather tough play, SuliMelilla's Quinito Rubio got a free kick in the 52nd minute. In the 93rd minute, Casimiro Abascal got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 94th minute, SuliMelilla's Carles Puyol seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Carles Puyol the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of SuliMelilla protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Carles Puyol had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The Magdalena fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. SuliMelilla were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
