Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Juan Jaraba in the 14th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ostadar Zaplana prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With a little luck, Olatz's Justo Antunez got control of the ball when Ponciano Pacheco tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Ponciano Pacheco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Olatz's zone, Ponciano Pacheco stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Justo Antunez came out of the goal and Ponciano Pacheco tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Justo Antunez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lesardo Vagrande, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. In the 33rd match minute, Olatz was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Romano Abrego to maneuver through the defense. Justo Antunez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lesardo Vagrande, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ponciano Pacheco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Justo Antunez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Juan Jaraba in the 40th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ostadar Zaplana saved Goias from getting behind. Goias's Ponciano Pacheco got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With an all-out effort, Goias's Justo Antunez threw himself towards the right post 47 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Lesardo Vagrande, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

In the 70th match minute, Goias was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ronaldo Cruz to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sotil Espinosa got free with Ostadar Zaplana in the 78th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Olatz booed when Goias was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nicodemo Ziguenza didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 94th minute, Goias's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Juan Jaraba fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Olatz succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Goias had controlled the match.
