If Santxo Quesada had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The SD Cruces fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Antonio Moreno should have stopped the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 42nd minute, Belarmo Aznar managed to get in a good position for a shot. SD Cruces's supporters rose to their feet, but Belarmo Aznar was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Idacio Ortiz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Nono Calatayud received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Antonio Moreno tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Antonio Moreno made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nono Calatayud in the 47th minute of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Nono Calatayud to make the kick off. In the 68th minute, Xines Alcaraz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Xines Alcaraz might have been able to make a better finish in the 74th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Antonio Moreno. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Xines Alcaraz ran back to his position shaking his head. Antonio Moreno made an important save on a dangerous shot by Santxo Quesada in the 86th minute. 88 minutes into the match, SD Cruces's goalkeeper Antonio Moreno had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Santxo Quesada. 89 minutes into the match, SD Cruces's goal looked a bit too open when Nono Calatayud came free, but Antonio Moreno reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
