The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Telesforo Etxeberria had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. Aristeo Cordoba made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Freek Capelle in the 19th minute of play. The supporters of Asilah booed when San Fernando CD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luar Estruch didn't get a good kick on the ball. Aristeo Cordoba showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Telesforo Etxeberria in the 38th minute of the match. San Fernando CD's Aristeo Cordoba played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Freek Capelle in the 44th minute of play. Freek Capelle took the ball and in the 47 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Aristeo Cordoba. Aristeo Cordoba dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-4 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Julen Garate to make the kick off. Luar Estruch received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Henrik Parve tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Luar Estruch fell near the penalty area in the 55th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored San Fernando CD's protests and gave Luar Estruch a yellow card for diving instead. In the 56th minute, Luar Estruch hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 62nd minute, Telesforo Etxeberria hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 72nd minute the ball was on its way in behind San Fernando CD's goalkeeper Aristeo Cordoba, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Freek Capelle ran back to his position shaking his head. Lamberto Valdivia was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 92 minutes into the match. The supporters of Asilah booed when San Fernando CD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lamberto Valdivia didn't get a good kick on the ball. Asilah's supporters stood up full of expectation in the 94th minute of the game, when Perrando Comas after an extraordinary solo performance found himself with a golden opportunity in front of San Fernando CD's goal. Perrando Comas was unfortunally a little to anxious and the ball went outside the goal. Asilah played a much better game than San Fernando CD and deserved their victory. The San Fernando CD players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
