The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a defensive mix-up in Søndergårde FC's zone, Michael Gyldenløv stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nickolaj Landsbøl came out of the goal and Michael Gyldenløv tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Rolf Billner fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ole Ørnemark having to interfere. When Søndergårde FC's Rolf Billner in the 17th minute got a chance for a shot 17th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Emil Jungsberg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Søndergårde FC's Nickolaj Landsbøl proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 27th minute of the match, managed to save Søndergårde FC from getting a goal against them. In a very dangerous position, a player in Orehoved fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 28th minute. Penalty! The referee gave Søndergårde FC a penalty, 30 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Viggo Kirkhøj, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Orehoved's Ole Ørnemark. 0-1. Michael Gyldenløv sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 40th minute Rolf Billner shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ole Ørnemark saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Emil Jungsberg stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 59th minute, Søndergårde FC's Rolf Billner ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Ole Ørnemark. Ole Ørnemark yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-2. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Søndergårde FC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
