Nyby FC's Rainer Gustel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aksel Ibsvang in the 5th minute of play. If Janick Leikow had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Janick Leikow's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Klement Bøttzauw was relentless in the 20th minute of the game. Tommy Køldal's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Klement Bøttzauw firmly grabbed it by the left post. After a defensive mix-up in Gellerup AC's zone, Janick Leikow stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Klement Bøttzauw came out of the goal and Janick Leikow tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tommy Køldal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Klement Bøttzauw tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rainer Gustel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aksel Ibsvang, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sam Theisberg in the 33rd minute of play forced Nyby FC's goalkeeper Rainer Gustel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Gellerup AC's Klement Bøttzauw got control of the ball when Tommy Køldal tried to sneak it across the goal line. Rainer Gustel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sam Theisberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 43rd minute, Tommy Køldal ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Klement Bøttzauw was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Tommy Køldal scored 2-0 in the 47th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Klement Bøttzauw, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Janick Leikow made a kick off. Janick Leikow blasted a shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Klement Bøttzauw having to make a save. Tommy Køldal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Klement Bøttzauw tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Klement Bøttzauw showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tommy Køldal in the 74th minute of the match. Klement Bøttzauw made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Janick Leikow in the 78th minute of play. After 93 minutes, Vilfred Hensvold mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Gellerup AC and the Nyby FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 94th match minute, Gellerup AC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vilfred Hensvold to maneuver through the defense.
