Bendt Hestehauge took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ruddi Brejninger, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 5 minutes, Haakon Nevin mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Plejelt SIK and the Aabenraa players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Plejelt SIK's Haakon Nevin got a free kick in the 5th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 9th minute, Jesper Rosenfeldt managed to get in a good position for a shot. Aabenraa's supporters rose to their feet, but Jesper Rosenfeldt was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bendt Hestehauge breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Plejelt SIK's Bendt Hestehauge played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jesper Rosenfeldt in the 12th minute of play. In the 23rd minute Jesper Rosenfeldt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bendt Hestehauge saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 24thth minute of the game Ruddi Brejninger who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Plejelt SIK's Bendt Hestehauge was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 27 minutes into the game, Ruddi Brejninger cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Bendt Hestehauge was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Michel Pach hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. Bertil Spenter let the left foot speak when in front of goal in the 31st minute shot 1-1 at rihgt post. Haakon Nevin kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. Ruddi Brejninger struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. Bendt Hestehauge didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Aabenraa. Maurits Grebell made an important save on a dangerous shot by Bertil Spenter in the 42nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jesper Rosenfeldt in the 45th minute of play forced Plejelt SIK's goalkeeper Bendt Hestehauge to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ruddi Brejninger made a kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jesper Rosenfeldt got free with Bendt Hestehauge in the 54th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Bendt Hestehauge made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ruddi Brejninger in the 56th minute of play. Ruddi Brejninger sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Maurits Grebell made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gunnar Wildroy in the 59th minute of play. If Gunnar Wildroy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 73 minutes into the match, Gunnar Wildroy notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Aabenraa's Maurits Grebell. Maurits Grebell was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gunnar Wildroy in the 78th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Maurits Grebell saved Aabenraa from getting behind. Bendt Hestehauge showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Morten Volkers, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. After 85 played minutes Plejelt SIK got a freekick which was hit by Haakon Nevin. In the 87th minute the ball was on its way in behind Plejelt SIK's goalkeeper Bendt Hestehauge, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar.
