An unexpectedly hard shot by Frode Fahrendorff in the 15th minute of play forced Brøndby IF's goalkeeper Ewald Harper to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ewald Harper showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Frode Fahrendorff, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. After a rather tough play, Egelund's Hasse Stollenwærk got a free kick in the 22nd minute. In the 23rd minute of the match Ture Guldbert sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Laust Degnegaard skillfully saved the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 25th minute, Rikki Arndal managed to get in a good position for a shot. Brøndby IF's supporters rose to their feet, but Rikki Arndal was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Egelund's Frode Fahrendorff got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 66th minute, Ture Guldbert sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Egelund's Laust Degnegaard didn't even have to move. Laust Degnegaard showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rikki Arndal, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. Laust Degnegaard took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rikki Arndal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 72nd minute, Hasse Stollenwærk hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Brøndby IF's Rikki Arndal got a good chance for a goal in the 73rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Pelle Kjelsholt recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 74th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Laust Degnegaard didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Rikki Arndal went, in the 79th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. The supporters of Egelund booed when Brøndby IF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Henning Futterer didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rikki Arndal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Laust Degnegaard tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Pelle Kjelsholt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The Egelund players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
