Preben Purup struck a weak shot in the 12th minute. Bent Langberg didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Årby AC. With a little luck, Hedeboerne's Bent Langberg got control of the ball when Ejner Nanholm tried to sneak it across the goal line. 20 minutes into the game, Henning Oschlag recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Bent Langberg. Henning Oschlag showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Bent Langberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Preben Purup, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. Klaudius Skovsholm took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kris Mensberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Terkild Falkland's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Klaudius Skovsholm was relentless in the 28th minute of the game. Ejner Nanholm might have been able to make a better finish in the 35th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Bent Langberg. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ejner Nanholm ran back to his position shaking his head. A collision led to Hedeboerne getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Albert Heisøe hit a great ball. Ejner Nanholm sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Preben Purup had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ejner Nanholm fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bent Langberg having to interfere. Preben Purup struck a weak shot in the 46th minute. Bent Langberg didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Årby AC. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Terkild Falkland stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Preben Purup received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Bent Langberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 66th minute Preben Purup shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bent Langberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 69th minute, Kris Mensberg managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hedeboerne's supporters rose to their feet, but Kris Mensberg was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Klaudius Skovsholm breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Bent Langberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ejner Nanholm in the 70th minute of the match. Preben Purup recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 74th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 76 minutes into the match, Hedeboerne's goal looked a bit too open when Preben Purup came free, but Bent Langberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 78 minutes, Ejner Nanholm managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Årby AC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ejner Nanholm was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Bent Langberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ejner Nanholm in the 81st minute of play. In the 84th minute Ejner Nanholm shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bent Langberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Ejner Nanholm came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the Årby AC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ejner Nanholm couldn't finish the play. Joachim Jørdorf missed a clear chance of a goal when in the 97 minute of the game fired away a shot, but unfortunally the ball went out to the Bent Langberg right hand side. There was no doubt that Årby AC were the better team. Årby AC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
