Hemming Fosvig showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Oluf Sennels, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. Christrup's defense didn't have a chance, in the 19th minute, when Mikkel Fjordbak scored to the left of an out of position Helmer Spangstoft, making the score, 1-0. The audience was convinced that Jørg Rettinger's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Hemming Fosvig was relentless in the 24th minute of the game. The supporters of Christrup booed when Kirkeby was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edwardt Emmertsen didn't get a good kick on the ball. Terkel Vestersager might have been able to make a better finish in the 33rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Helmer Spangstoft. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Helmer Spangstoft made a fantastic save in the 41st minute, when Terkel Vestersager sent off a good shot on target. Jørg Rettinger's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Hemming Fosvig read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 43rd minute of play. If Oluf Sennels had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Oluf Sennels made a kick off. In the 58th minute Oluf Sennels shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hemming Fosvig saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Christrup booed when Kirkeby was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dirch Kleland didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Matias Gaffron during the 66th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 72nd minute, Jørg Rettinger ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Hemming Fosvig was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. When Oluf Sennels came up free with the goalie in the 76th minute, the Christrup fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Oluf Sennels couldn't finish the play. In the 78th match minute, Kirkeby was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mikkel Fjordbak to maneuver through the defense. Oluf Sennels received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Hemming Fosvig tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 86 minutes of play, Kirkeby's Mikkel Fjordbak made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Helmer Spangstoft was left in no man's land by his defense there! 90 minutes into the match, Christrup's goal looked a bit too open when Terkel Vestersager came free, but Helmer Spangstoft reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Oluf Sennels had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Kirkeby's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
