The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Dario Lydicksen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Povl Conqvist made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dan Leirvik in the 8th minute. Dan Leirvik fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Povl Conqvist having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dario Lydicksen in the 24th minute of play forced Gellerup FV's goalkeeper Uwe Knarreborg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 27th minute, Teddi Kruse hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Kris Diekelmann received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Uwe Knarreborg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kris Diekelmann in the 30th minute of play forced Gellerup FV's goalkeeper Uwe Knarreborg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Gellerup FV's Teddi Kruse got a free kick in the 31st minute. Dario Lydicksen recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 33rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 36th minute, Dan Leirvik fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Povl Conqvist made a fantastic save in the 41st minute, when Dan Leirvik sent off a good shot on target. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Kris Diekelmann stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Uwe Knarreborg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kris Diekelmann in the 55th minute of the match. When Dario Lydicksen fell near the penalty area in the 57th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Egernsund's protests and gave Dario Lydicksen a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Egernsund getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Dario Lydicksen hit a great ball. Povl Conqvist didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Dan Leirvik went, in the 58th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Nicolaus Arrøe's late challenge caught a Gellerup FV's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nicolaus Arrøe helped the player get up and apologised. After 65 played minutes Egernsund got a freekick which was hit by Nicolaus Arrøe. In the 66th minute of the match Micky Jandorf shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Povl Conqvist showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The supporters of Gellerup FV booed when Egernsund was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Amdi Harsig didn't get a good kick on the ball. 68 minutes into the game, Ruben Bindner was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Egernsund's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Gellerup FV the free kick. 73 minutes into the game, Victor Wamborg was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. If Dan Leirvik had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 88 minutes, Kris Diekelmann managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Egernsund's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kris Diekelmann was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 92 minutes into the game, Dan Leirvik cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Povl Conqvist was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 97th match minute, Egernsund was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Klaudius Lukowski to maneuver through the defense. For all the effort they put into the match, the Egernsund players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Gellerup FV.
