An unexpected shot in the 9th minute by Jimmi Gundertofte got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Thorstein Hersling struck a weak shot in the 16th minute. Bjørn Elvers didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Kirkeby FC. Lennarth Hauch received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Bjørn Elvers tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 28th minute, Thorstein Hersling left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Kirkeby FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. If Thorstein Hersling had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Kirkeby FC's zone, Jimmi Gundertofte stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Folmer Djørsing came out of the goal and Jimmi Gundertofte tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Freddie Vorsig came up free with the goalie in the 43rd minute, the Aasted SIK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Freddie Vorsig couldn't finish the play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Thorstein Hersling made a kick off. In the 55th minute Thorstein Hersling shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bjørn Elvers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 62 minutes into the game, Freddie Vorsig was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Aasted SIK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Kirkeby FC the free kick. In the 62nd minute, Freddie Vorsig hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bjørn Elvers made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lennarth Hauch in the 72nd minute. Lennarth Hauch fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bjørn Elvers having to interfere. In the 76th minute Thorstein Hersling shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bjørn Elvers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Jimmi Gundertofte's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Folmer Djørsing was relentless in the 78th minute of the game. Bjørn Elvers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lennarth Hauch, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lennarth Hauch got free with Bjørn Elvers in the 82nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Amdi Christophersen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Aasted SIK were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
