After a defensive mix-up in Elsborg FV's zone, Oswald Bergild stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Orla Tychsen came out of the goal and Oswald Bergild tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Oswald Bergild received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Orla Tychsen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 15 played minutes Elsborg FV got a freekick which was hit by Børge Kurzke. 20 minutes into the match, Haakon Suma dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Lenni Blenstrup, 1-0. Orla Tychsen came out of the goal in the 29th minute to try and stop a shot by Karleby's Adam Gabor. But to his dismay, Adam Gabor quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Orla Tychsen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Oswald Bergild in the 37th minute of play. 39 minutes into the game, Ronny Barrett was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Karleby's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Elsborg FV the free kick. After a rather tough play, Karleby's Ronny Barrett got a free kick in the 39th minute. When Elsborg FV's Robert Kotva in the 40th minute got a chance for a shot 40th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Karleby's goalie prevented a goal. In the 42nd minute Elsborg FV were awarded a corner. Børge Kurzke went to the cornerflag to take it. Rudolf Djerf made a great header on Elsborg FV's corner, it was just that Karleby's Lenni Blenstrup managed to reach the ball for a save. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Oswald Bergild was the one to do the kick off. A collision led to Elsborg FV getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Haakon Suma hit a great ball. Orla Tychsen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Oswald Bergild, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 60 minutes into the match, Karleby's goal looked a bit too open when Visti Kremmer came free, but Lenni Blenstrup reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 61st match minute, Karleby was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Amin Gosmer to maneuver through the defense. Lenni Blenstrup made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Robert Kotva in the 67th minute of play. In the 70th minute, Adam Gabor got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of Elsborg FV booed when Karleby was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eskild Saltsø didn't get a good kick on the ball. Børge Kurzke took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 73rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Lenni Blenstrup. Karleby's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Karleby's Lenni Blenstrup played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Robert Kotva in the 75th minute of play. After having played for 77 minutes, Visti Kremmer managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Elsborg FV's supporters crossed their fingers, but Visti Kremmer was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Orla Tychsen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Oswald Bergild in the 89th minute of play. Adam Gabor could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 90th minute of the match, but Orla Tychsen made a huge save. When Svenne Albjørn fell near the penalty area in the 90th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Elsborg FV's protests and gave Svenne Albjørn a yellow card for diving instead. Svenne Albjørn got his second yellow card in the match during the 92nd minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. In the 93rd minute, Svenne Albjørn hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 94th minute of the match Gregorius Heedal shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Orla Tychsen showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 97 minutes into the game, Elsborg FV's Visti Kremmer nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Lenni Blenstrup made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Elsborg FV had won after a very even match.
