Miklos Wasehuus was extremely unlucky when he, in the 7th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Miklos Wasehuus fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Frederik Thamel having to interfere. After having played for 10 minutes, Bertel Harss managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Grenå FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bertel Harss was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Frederik Thamel made a fantastic save in the 14th minute, when Donald Lolck sent off a good shot on target. Bertel Harss fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nigel Rosholm having to interfere. Gabøl's Nigel Rosholm played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sigfried Roelsgaard in the 21st minute of play. In the 23rd minute, Miklos Wasehuus got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Donald Lolck might have been able to make a better finish in the 25th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Frederik Thamel. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Donald Lolck ran back to his position shaking his head. Bertel Harss received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Nigel Rosholm tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nigel Rosholm showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sigfried Roelsgaard in the 32nd minute of the match. Sigfried Roelsgaard received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Nigel Rosholm tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 35th match minute, Gabøl was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Karljohan Engnæs to maneuver through the defense. Sigfried Roelsgaard sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nigel Rosholm showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sigfried Roelsgaard, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. If Miklos Wasehuus had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 49 minutes into the game, Gabøl's Donald Lolck nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Frederik Thamel made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The audience was convinced that Sigfried Roelsgaard's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Nigel Rosholm was relentless in the 57th minute of the game. With a little luck, Gabøl's Nigel Rosholm got control of the ball when Bertel Harss tried to sneak it across the goal line. Grenå FC were awarded a corner in the 71th minute after Gabøl's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Rubert Maido took the corner. Sigfried Roelsgaard fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nigel Rosholm having to interfere. Frederik Thamel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Miklos Wasehuus in the 82nd minute of the match. Nigel Rosholm made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Asger Seecant in the 86th minute of play. In the 87th minute, Karljohan Engnæs hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Nigel Rosholm made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sigfried Roelsgaard in the 88th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Donald Lolck in the 91st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Frederik Thamel prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, Gabøl's Allan Elsfoss got a free kick in the 96th minute. Miklos Wasehuus took the ball and in the 99 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Frederik Thamel. Frederik Thamel dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. Gabøl's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
