Detlev Siegstad showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kjeld Ohms in the 9th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Sønderby's zone, Birger Lawrence stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Villy Kozuch came out of the goal and Birger Lawrence tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 17 minutes of play, Hedegaard AC's Birger Lawrence made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Villy Kozuch was left in no man's land by his defense there! 22 minutes into the match, Sønderby's Kjeld Ohms sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Detlev Siegstad narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 24th minute Kjeld Ohms shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Detlev Siegstad saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Birger Lawrence had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 28 minutes, Daniel Wessely managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hedegaard AC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daniel Wessely was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Kjeld Ohms to make the kick off. Birger Lawrence received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Villy Kozuch tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Birger Lawrence had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 60th minute, Sønderby's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Daniel Wessely fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. If Kjeld Ohms had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 68 minutes into the game, Birger Lawrence recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Villy Kozuch. Birger Lawrence showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-2. Daniel Wessely who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 79thth minute tested the skills of Villy Kozuch when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The Sønderby fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Hedegaard AC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
