In the 36th minute Kristjan Alger shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gunter Hertäg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Smerup's Tommy Engelov played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lucas Fardan in the 37th minute of play. If Verner Masannek had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 43 played minutes Åsted got a freekick which was hit by Mohamed Hedengran. Åsted's defense didn't have a chance, in the 45th minute, when Berthel Lindekær scored to the left of an out of position Gunter Hertäg, making the score, 1-0. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Berthel Lindekær to make the kick off. With a little luck, Smerup's Tommy Engelov got control of the ball when Vilfred Martinsson tried to sneak it across the goal line. The audience was convinced that Lucas Fardan's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tommy Engelov was relentless in the 80th minute of the game. Aleks Eiø didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Lucas Fardan came up free with the goalie in the 94th minute, the Åsted fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lucas Fardan couldn't finish the play. In the 96th minute Lucas Fardan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tommy Engelov saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
