Klaus Funke took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Beat Euschen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 9 minutes into the match, Dainrode's goal looked a bit too open when Benno Sabath came free, but Klaus Funke reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Beat Euschen during the 16th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Kirchwehren's Beat Euschen got a free kick in the 16th minute. Timur Börstling sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Simon Sünneke sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Timur Börstling had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Dainrode's zone, Beat Euschen stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Klaus Funke came out of the goal and Beat Euschen tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 30 minutes, Berti Konietzny mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Dainrode and the Kirchwehren players grew even worse after the yellow card. Simon Sünneke could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 34th minute of the match, but Antti Ullrich made a huge save. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Timur Börstling to make the kick off. After 51 played minutes Kirchwehren got a freekick which was hit by David Haas. Klaus Funke showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Benno Sabath in the 58th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Timur Börstling in the 61st minute of play forced Kirchwehren's goalkeeper Antti Ullrich to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dainrode's Klaus Funke played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Benno Sabath in the 65th minute of play. After 66 played minutes Dainrode got a freekick which was hit by Berti Konietzny. In the 68th minute, Benno Sabath fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. If Beat Euschen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Beat Euschen could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 73rd minute of the match, but Klaus Funke made a huge save. In the 73rd minute, Nelson Hinsken hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Benno Sabath was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 74th minute. Kirchwehren's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. The supporters of Kirchwehren booed when Dainrode was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Berti Konietzny didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 82nd minute, Nelson Hinsken hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Beat Euschen recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 83rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Benno Sabath received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Klaus Funke tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Kirchwehren's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
