Offenbach Kickers's Benjamin Ernstberger played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anders Torres in the 7th minute of play. 8 minutes into the match, Offenbach Kickers's goalkeeper Benjamin Ernstberger had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Zlatko Oswald. After having played for 10 minutes, Elvis Dahl managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Offenbach Kickers's supporters crossed their fingers, but Elvis Dahl was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 11th minute, Onno Berosch hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ruud Miller hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. Gerold Assmann might have been able to make a better finish in the 14th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Benjamin Ernstberger. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gerold Assmann ran back to his position shaking his head. 15 minutes into the game, Ferdinand Butzlaff was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Vosskotten's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Offenbach Kickers the free kick. The supporters of Offenbach Kickers booed when Vosskotten was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ferdinand Butzlaff didn't get a good kick on the ball. Arpad Fettinger might have been able to make a better finish in the 16th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Helmut Bremke. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Arpad Fettinger ran back to his position shaking his head. Trutz Müller's late challenge caught a Vosskotten's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Trutz Müller helped the player get up and apologised. Achmed Überwasser walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. 35 minutes into the game, Christoph Wolter threw the ball into play from the sideline. Offenbach Kickers's Edmund Gillen quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Offenbach Kickers's defense didn't have a chance, in the 38th minute, when Achmed Überwasser scored to the left of an out of position Benjamin Ernstberger, making the score, 1-0. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gerold Assmann was the one to do the kick off. In the 50th match minute, Offenbach Kickers was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Trutz Müller to maneuver through the defense. Vosskotten's Zlatko Oswald got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 66 minutes, Kord Knecht mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Offenbach Kickers and the Vosskotten players grew even worse after the yellow card. Kord Knecht hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. Offenbach Kickers's Edmund Gillen managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Christoph Wolter in the 73 minute of the game. After a defensive mix-up in Offenbach Kickers's zone, Zlatko Oswald stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Benjamin Ernstberger came out of the goal and Zlatko Oswald tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Offenbach Kickers's attentive Ruud Miller managed to snatch the ball when Oskar Beinlich made a throw-in in the 84th minute of the game. Benjamin Ernstberger took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gerold Assmann, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Offenbach Kickers's Ruud Miller quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Christoph Wolter, made in the 93rd minute of the game.
