When Karl-Heinz Pattmann came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the Hasselbeck fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Karl-Heinz Pattmann couldn't finish the play. 43 minutes into the game, Fritz Markmann was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Farqaard FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Hasselbeck the free kick. In the 44th match minute, Farqaard FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fritz Markmann to maneuver through the defense. In the 47th minute, Thorsten Sommer got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Thies Kaltz kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. In the 55th minute of the match, Thorsten Sommer got a very nice opportunity to score, but Ralph Tornau was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Thorsten Sommer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ralph Tornau having to interfere. Farqaard FC's Ralph Tornau played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Karl-Heinz Pattmann in the 58th minute of play. 60 minutes into the match, Farqaard FC's goal looked a bit too open when Karl-Heinz Pattmann came free, but Ralph Tornau reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After recieving a nice pass, Hasselbeck's Jörg Schwein tried to score from far away in the 63rd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. 66 minutes into the match, Farqaard FC's goalkeeper Ralph Tornau had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Thorsten Sommer. After 66 played minutes Farqaard FC got a freekick which was hit by Thies Kaltz. After a rather tough play, Hasselbeck's Marc-Joel Geipel got a free kick in the 71st minute. In the 75th minute the ball was on its way in behind Farqaard FC's goalkeeper Ralph Tornau, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Thorsten Sommer struck a weak shot in the 76th minute. Ralph Tornau didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hasselbeck. Thorsten Sommer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ralph Tornau having to interfere. The supporters of Hasselbeck booed when Farqaard FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jork Zippel didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ralph Tornau was out of position in the 87 minute of play, and Karl-Heinz Pattmann capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Karl-Heinz Pattmann really showed his touch with that goal: 0-2. After 90 played minutes Farqaard FC got a freekick which was hit by Jork Zippel. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jörg Schwein in the 91st minute of play forced Farqaard FC's goalkeeper Ralph Tornau to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Farqaard FC's zone, Karl-Heinz Pattmann stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ralph Tornau came out of the goal and Karl-Heinz Pattmann tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the match was over Hasselbeck could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Farqaard FC throughout the match.
