The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of Raumbach FSV booed when Scherndorf FSV was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gernot Berntsen didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gernot Berntsens short, quick shot in the 7thth minute got Leschek Meffert to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Artur Ibrügger came free with the goalkeeper in the 8th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Leschek Meffert could save by the left post. Leschek Meffert made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gernot Berntsen in the 10th minute. When the match had gone on for 11 minutes, Gernot Berntsen put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Leschek Meffert. 16 minutes into the match, Gernot Berntsen dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Leschek Meffert, 2-0. Heinrich Wild's late challenge caught a Scherndorf FSV's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Heinrich Wild helped the player get up and apologised. In the 23rd match minute, Raumbach FSV was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Heinrich Wild to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 27 minutes, Gernot Berntsen managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Scherndorf FSV's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gernot Berntsen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Artur Ibrügger's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 33rdth minute, Leschek Meffert skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Max Kasik showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Heinrich Wild, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Danilo Silen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Max Kasik tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 40th minute Vicco Dutzi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Max Kasik saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Leschek Meffert showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gernot Berntsen in the 42nd minute of the match. When Artur Ibrügger came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the Scherndorf FSV fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Artur Ibrügger couldn't finish the play. In the 46th minute of the match, Gernot Berntsen tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Leschek Meffert saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Danilo Silen to strike the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the game, Vicco Dutzi was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Raumbach FSV's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Scherndorf FSV the free kick. After 53 played minutes Raumbach FSV got a freekick which was hit by Vicco Dutzi. After a defensive mix-up in Raumbach FSV's zone, Antonio Zapf stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Leschek Meffert came out of the goal and Antonio Zapf tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Max Kasik made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Danilo Silen in the 56th minute of play. After having played for 64 minutes, Gernot Berntsen managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Scherndorf FSV's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gernot Berntsen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience was convinced that Gernot Berntsen's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Leschek Meffert was relentless in the 65th minute of the game. When Scherndorf FSV's Gernot Berntsen in the 69th minute got a chance for a shot 69th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. There was no doubt that Scherndorf FSV were the better team. Scherndorf FSV's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
