Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Lutz Ries-Müller got the match started through his kick off. In the 2nd minute, Theobald Hecht hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Haukeller FSV's Lutz Ries-Müller got a good chance for a goal in the 3rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 4th match minute, dortmund was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Axel Brominski to maneuver through the defense. 7 minutes into the game, Helmut Pfeffer cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Erich Hofer was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 11th minute, Axel Brominski hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 18 minutes into the game, Haukeller FSV's Elia Nieberg nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Reineke Büttner made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. After 21 minutes, Helmut Pfeffer made it 1-2 with a short kick to the right side. Haukeller FSV's Erich Hofer tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Helmut Pfeffer during the 24th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Helmut Pfeffer hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. In the 30th minute, dortmund's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Lutz Ries-Müller fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. 30 minutes into the match, dortmund's goalkeeper Reineke Büttner had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lutz Ries-Müller. Erich Hofer showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from James Gaßner, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Helmut Pfeffer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Erich Hofer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Erich Hofer stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of James Gaßner's shot from short distance in the 37th minute. 41 minutes into the game, dortmund's Helmut Pfeffer nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Erich Hofer made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. After the first half dortmund were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and James Gaßner made a kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers James Gaßner in the 51st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Erich Hofer saved Haukeller FSV from getting behind. Haukeller FSV's Lutz Ries-Müller got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Lutz Ries-Müller scored 2-3 in the 55th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Reineke Büttner, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 61 minutes into the match, Haukeller FSV's goalkeeper Erich Hofer had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Helmut Pfeffer. Erich Hofer made an important save on a dangerous shot by Helmut Pfeffer in the 66th minute. James Gaßner sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. James Gaßner fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Erich Hofer having to interfere. When Helmut Pfeffer came up free with the goalie in the 70th minute, the dortmund fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Helmut Pfeffer couldn't finish the play. Erich Hofer showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from James Gaßner, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. Helmut Pfeffer struck a weak shot in the 80th minute. Erich Hofer didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for dortmund. If Axel Brominski had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Helmut Pfeffer could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 84th minute of the match, but Erich Hofer made a huge save. dortmund's Gottlieb Kugler shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 88th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Erich Hofer but with some difficulty. In the 90th minute, Helmut Pfeffer got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Helmut Pfeffer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Erich Hofer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from James Gaßner in the 97th minute of play.
