The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Rhys Henderson hit a great freekick 2 minutes into the match. Jamie Tassler hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. Sebastian Lau took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jorge Faro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Carl Koewius charged in rather forcefully in the 8th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Carl Koewius the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 8th match minute, Balzhausen FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carl Koewius to maneuver through the defense. Hernando Borek kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. Sebastian Bülow fired away a difficult shot at goal in the 17th minute. He almost succeeded, but the ball bounced in the crossbar and then went out. It was a very nice shot. Jorge Faro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Agustin Russo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jorge Faro might have been able to make a better finish in the 25th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sebastian Lau. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jorge Faro ran back to his position shaking his head. The TSV 1860 München fans' excitement grew in the 28th match minute when TSV 1860 München's Jorge Faro looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Sascha Kerl showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rocky Britz in the 32nd minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Jorge Faro's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Sebastian Lau was relentless in the 36th minute of the game. Burkhardt Breil fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sebastian Lau having to interfere. When the match clock showed 39 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Jorge Faro sped through Balzhausen FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Sebastian Lau. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jorge Faro made a kick off. When Rhys Henderson came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the TSV 1860 München fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rhys Henderson couldn't finish the play. Jorge Faro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 53rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 56th minute, Sebastian Bülow managed to get in a good position for a shot. TSV 1860 München's supporters rose to their feet, but Sebastian Bülow was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sebastian Lau breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The attack was good, but when Jorge Faro in the 63rd minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. TSV 1860 München's Agustin Russo got a good chance for a goal in the 64th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Balzhausen FC's zone, Jorge Faro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sebastian Lau came out of the goal and Jorge Faro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jorge Faro in the 70thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Sebastian Lau, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. When TSV 1860 München's Jorge Faro in the 72nd minute got a chance for a shot 72nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Balzhausen FC's goalie prevented a goal. After 79 played minutes Balzhausen FC got a freekick which was hit by Burkhard Bangert. 81 minutes into the game, Jorge Faro cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Sebastian Lau was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Jorge Faro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sebastian Lau having to interfere. Sebastian Bülow received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Sebastian Lau tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jorge Faro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 96th minute of the match, but Sebastian Lau made a huge save. TSV 1860 München played a much better game than Balzhausen FC and deserved their victory. The Balzhausen FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
