In the 19th minute, Leonhard Hantusch hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Otfried Mars was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 20th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. 21 minutes into the match, Oskar Oppermann notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Merkur Dortmund's Johann Schilke.
