Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Julien Flamme started the match with the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Merkur Dortmund's zone, Nils Flecken stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Johann Schilke came out of the goal and Nils Flecken tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Merkur Dortmund's Johann Schilke played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julien Flamme in the 16th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Cossmannsdorf's Rene von Berg got a free kick in the 17th minute. In the 19th minute, Leonhard Hantusch hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Rolf Fontes fell near the penalty area in the 20th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Merkur Dortmund's protests and gave Rolf Fontes a yellow card for diving instead. Johann Schilke made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julien Flamme in the 25th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jonas Schepoll during the 28th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. 27 minutes into the game, one of Cossmannsdorf:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 29th minute there was a penalty for Merkur Dortmund. Opus Heidemann stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Dennis Bischof. 0-1. Dennis Bischof stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Nico Klauß's shot from short distance in the 34th minute. In the 35th minute Balthasar Engel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dennis Bischof saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 38 minutes into the game, Merkur Dortmund's Balthasar Engel nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Dennis Bischof made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. In the 46th minute of the match Karl Rössler sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Johann Schilke skillfully saved the ball. Nils Flecken received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Johann Schilke tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After the first half Merkur Dortmund were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
Johann Schilke showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nils Flecken, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. Dennis Bischof took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Balthasar Engel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Julien Flamme came up free with the goalie in the 58th minute, the Cossmannsdorf fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Julien Flamme couldn't finish the play. After 60 minutes of play Merkur Dortmund's Rolf Fontes was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After 60 played minutes Merkur Dortmund got a freekick which was hit by Rolf Fontes. Julien Flamme struck a weak shot in the 65th minute. Johann Schilke didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cossmannsdorf. Leonhard Hantusch was shown his second yellow card after 69 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. The supporters of Cossmannsdorf booed when Merkur Dortmund was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leonhard Hantusch didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nils Flecken fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Johann Schilke having to interfere. Johann Schilke took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Julien Flamme, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Julien Flamme had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 78 minutes, Karl Rössler mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cossmannsdorf and the Merkur Dortmund players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 78th minute, Karl Rössler hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Opus Heidemann recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 79th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 82 minutes into the game, Rene Burdach was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cossmannsdorf's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Merkur Dortmund the free kick. In the 82nd match minute, Cossmannsdorf was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rene Burdach to maneuver through the defense. After 85 minutes of play Cossmannsdorf's Rene Burdach was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Rene Burdach hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. After having played for 92 minutes, Nils Flecken managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cossmannsdorf's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nils Flecken was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Felix Woltera struck a weak shot in the 93rd minute. Johann Schilke didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cossmannsdorf.
