SC Freiburg's Franz Klukas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Quint Portner in the 10th minute of play. Franz Klukas didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Benedikt Groll went, in the 12th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. After a rather tough play, TSV Bad Blankenburg's Detlef Burger got a free kick in the 16th minute. 18 minutes into the game, Quint Portner cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Franz Klukas was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 24 minutes into the match, SC Freiburg's goal looked a bit too open when Quint Portner came free, but Franz Klukas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Franz Klukas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from René Gross in the 26th minute of play. A collision led to SC Freiburg getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Thomas Brandborn hit a great ball. 30 minutes into the game, Sebastian Lubbatsch cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Franz Klukas was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 33rd minute, SC Freiburg's Joseph Wansner seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Joseph Wansner the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of SC Freiburg protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Joseph Wansner had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. After 34 played minutes SC Freiburg got a freekick which was hit by Joseph Wansner. If Manuel Tinz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Manuel Tinz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ingmar Urner sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nikolaus Solf showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rolf Oertel in the 45th minute of the match. After the first half TSV Bad Blankenburg were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

With a little luck, SC Freiburg's Franz Klukas got control of the ball when Sebastian Lubbatsch tried to sneak it across the goal line. TSV Bad Blankenburg's Nikolaus Solf played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Manuel Tinz in the 59th minute of play. Sebastian Lubbatsch recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 62nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Manuel Tinz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Ingmar Urner fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nikolaus Solf having to interfere. In the 71st minute Jochen Carstensen suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. When Ingmar Urner came up free with the goalie in the 76th minute, the SC Freiburg fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ingmar Urner couldn't finish the play. A collision led to SC Freiburg getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Manuel Tinz hit a great ball. TSV Bad Blankenburg's Sebastian Lubbatsch got a good chance for a goal in the 82nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Manuel Tinz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Manuel Tinz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Ingmar Urner had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. TSV Bad Blankenburg had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
