Volker Aderhold showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hermann Fiedler, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. Norken's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Christoph Klingberg was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Christoph Willer got free with Vaclav Staudenhöchte in the 29th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 0-2 became the score in the 32nd minute when Christoph Klingberg elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Volker Aderhold made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hermann Fiedler in the 37th minute of play. When Jürgen Wigger fell near the penalty area in the 38th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Bausen FSV's protests and gave Jürgen Wigger a yellow card for diving instead. Jürgen Wigger hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. If Hermann Fiedler had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 44 minutes into the match, Norken's goal looked a bit too open when Hermann Fiedler came free, but Volker Aderhold reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match had gone on for 45 minutes, Christoph Klingberg put it in 0-3 from a short distance just to the right of Volker Aderhold.

After having played for 96 minutes, Hermann Fiedler managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bausen FSV's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hermann Fiedler was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
