To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Kunibert Mach might have been able to make a better finish in the 8th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Stephan Wittmann. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Kunibert Mach ran back to his position shaking his head. Deutschland's Kunibert Mach got a good chance for a goal in the 10th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 53 minutes, Winfried Butzer mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Rothensee and the Deutschland players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 53 played minutes FC Rothensee got a freekick which was hit by Winfried Butzer. In the 59th minute, Lutz Köhn fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Stephan Wittmann, passed just outside the right post. Stephan Wittmann breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 65th minute, Lutz Köhn got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
