To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gabriel Violka fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jorge Marek having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 31st minute, Jens Lamwersiek managed to get in a good position for a shot. Dy Dresden's supporters rose to their feet, but Jens Lamwersiek was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jorge Marek breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Andy Rohn made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hansjörg Pahl in the 33rd minute of play. Jens Lamwersiek blasted a shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jorge Marek having to make a save. But to his dismay, Hansjörg Pahl quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Hansjörg Pahl to make the kick off. A sloppy throw-in by Eduard Szolkowy in the 52nd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Dy Dresden's Horst Gehb. When Jens Lamwersiek came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Dy Dresden fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jens Lamwersiek couldn't finish the play. Horst Gehb fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jorge Marek having to interfere. In the 58th minute of the match, Steven Wonneberger got a very nice opportunity to score, but Andy Rohn was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Georg Heckrath took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 67th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Andy Rohn. Dy Dresden's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. When Hansjörg Pahl came up free with the goalie in the 68th minute, the FC Muş 49 fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hansjörg Pahl couldn't finish the play.
