The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Rachid Westermann charged in rather forcefully in the 8th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rachid Westermann the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Rachid Westermann hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. When Rachid Westermann was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 10 minutes had been played. The supporters of Untereck FSV booed when FC Paula was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rachid Westermann didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Marco Storb got free with Ferdinand Heiduk in the 22nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ferdinand Heiduk made a fantastic save in the 24th minute, when Marco Storb sent off a good shot on target. Tino Hahn fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Daniel Kaestner having to interfere. Leo Stauder recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 33rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 35 minutes, Leo Stauder managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Paula's supporters crossed their fingers, but Leo Stauder was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After having played for 37 minutes, Carlo Jung managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Daniel Kaestner stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Leo Stauder's shot from short distance in the 39th minute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Elias Hirt to make the kick off. Ferdinand Heiduk took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marco Storb, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Leo Stauder had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 63rd minute, one of Untereck FSV:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Untereck FSV. When the match had been going on for 64 minutes, FC Paula's Dirk Fischer got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Daniel Kaestner. If Elias Hirt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Untereck FSV's Philip Arndt got a free kick in the 74th minute. Leo Stauder who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 79thth minute tested the skills of Daniel Kaestner when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Tino Hahn sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jan-Moritz Schuber's late challenge caught a FC Paula's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jan-Moritz Schuber helped the player get up and apologised. After having played for 93 minutes, Leo Stauder managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Paula's supporters crossed their fingers, but Leo Stauder was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The Untereck FSV fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. FC Paula were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
