Dimo Risthaus's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Leo-Jan Bohn read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 4th minute of play. Leo-Jan Bohn showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Chris Bauer in the 11th minute of the match. Bastian Bernard hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. Leo-Jan Bohn showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dimo Risthaus, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. The referee felt a red card was in order, 24 minutes into the game, when Siegfried Hempel put in a rough tackle. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 23rd minute of the game. One of Kohlenhusen:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Saalthal FSV:s goal. If Dimo Risthaus had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kohlenhusen's defense didn't have a chance, in the 35th minute, when Klaudius Schirp scored to the left of an out of position Edo Hartl, making the score, 2-0. Dimo Risthaus sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Kohlenhusen's Dimo Risthaus got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Saalthal FSV's Marc Latzke got a free kick in the 46th minute. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

53 minutes into the match, Kohlenhusen's Dimo Risthaus sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Leo-Jan Bohn narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Jan-Hendrik Hofstetter fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edo Hartl having to interfere. When the match clock showed 65 minutes, the score became 2-1 when Dimo Risthaus sped through Saalthal FSV's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Leo-Jan Bohn. 70 minutes into the game, Max Alfert cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. Edo Hartl was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. A collision led to Saalthal FSV getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Lasse Vogel hit a great ball. In the 82nd minute, Bastian Bernard hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Robin Gelink was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 83rd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Klaudius Schirp in the 88th minute of play forced Kohlenhusen's goalkeeper Edo Hartl to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Kohlenhusen's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
