The supporters of Ruhensdorf booed when FC Saigon was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Berend Petek didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ehrhard Mögle took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adolf Baur, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 10 minutes of play, Ruhensdorf's Zwi Klages made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ehrhard Mögle was left in no man's land by his defense there! FC Saigon's Ehrhard Mögle played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adolf Baur in the 14th minute of play. Ehrhard Mögle stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Adolf Baur's shot from short distance in the 22nd minute. After having played for 24 minutes, Winfried Binding managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Saigon's supporters crossed their fingers, but Winfried Binding was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, Ruhensdorf's Sven Onaran got a free kick in the 27th minute. In the 30th minute Adolf Baur shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ehrhard Mögle saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gernot Gilgen blasted a shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Farin Spangenberg having to make a save. When Winfried Binding came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the FC Saigon fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Winfried Binding couldn't finish the play. Ehrhard Mögle showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zwi Klages in the 43rd minute of the match. In the 47th minute, Winfried Binding got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Winfried Binding stepped up to make the kick off in the second half.
