Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Georg Pöttgen took the kick off in the first half of the match. A collision led to Meyerhausen FSV getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Kjetil Strässer hit a great ball. 4 minutes into the match, FC Schalke GE 04's Matti Claus broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. In the 6th minute, Georg Pöttgen reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Roberto Dickopf. The goal made the score 1-0. Hendrik Hueg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Leo Grünewald tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Joost Lanier fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leo Grünewald having to interfere. If Joost Lanier had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 17thth minute of the game Hendrik Hueg who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC Schalke GE 04's Leo Grünewald was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 18th minute, Raik Noll hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Roberto Dickopf showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Georg Pöttgen, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. After 25 played minutes FC Schalke GE 04 got a freekick which was hit by Hartmut Rupprecht. Joost Lanier received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Leo Grünewald tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 29 played minutes Meyerhausen FSV got a freekick which was hit by Kjetil Strässer. Matti Claus was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 30th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Joost Lanier fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leo Grünewald having to interfere. 47 minutes into the match, FC Schalke GE 04's goal looked a bit too open when Joost Lanier came free, but Leo Grünewald reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Hendrik Hueg stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Timo Himmelreich fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Roberto Dickopf having to interfere. If Hendrik Hueg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 59 minutes, Hendrik Hueg managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Meyerhausen FSV's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hendrik Hueg was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Georg Pöttgen in the 67th minute of play forced Meyerhausen FSV's goalkeeper Roberto Dickopf to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Georg Pöttgen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 72nd minute Georg Pöttgen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Roberto Dickopf saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Miguel Hennig kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in FC Schalke GE 04's zone, Joost Lanier stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Leo Grünewald came out of the goal and Joost Lanier tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Meyerhausen FSV's Hendrik Hueg in the 77th minute got a chance for a shot 77th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye FC Schalke GE 04's goalie prevented a goal. Martin Rasp lost his temper 81 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. After a rather tough play, Meyerhausen FSV's Kjetil Strässer got a free kick in the 86th minute. The audience was convinced that Georg Pöttgen's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Roberto Dickopf was relentless in the 90th minute of the game. Roberto Dickopf didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Georg Pöttgen went, in the 94th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. Meyerhausen FSV's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
