Ingmar Böhringer hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. Walter Gauderer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Enrico Trede having to interfere. 8 minutes into the match, Strodthagen FSV's Niko Wirth sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Enrico Trede narrowly saved just below the crossbar. A long shot from Vincent Tönnies in the 10th minute of play was well struck, but Enrico Trede made a really good save at the right post. If Mike Pestel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 13 played minutes Strodthagen FSV got a freekick which was hit by Peter Seiffert. Niko Wirth could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 15th minute of the match, but Enrico Trede made a huge save. Niko Wirth struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. Strodthagen FSV's supporters crossed their fingers, but Walter Gauderer was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Niko Wirth had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Bastian Draxinger to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Curtis Nikisch hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lochwiesen FSV's Mike Pestel got a good chance for a goal in the 55th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 58 minutes into the match, Strodthagen FSV's goalkeeper Harro Lembeck had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Mike Pestel. Walter Gauderer kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. In the 66th minute, Niko Wirth left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Strodthagen FSV fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Leonard Rehmann during the 69th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Enrico Trede made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Walter Gauderer in the 77th minute of play. In the 78th match minute, Lochwiesen FSV was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ben Nussbaum to maneuver through the defense. When Werner Frey fell near the penalty area in the 81st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Lochwiesen FSV's protests and gave Werner Frey a yellow card for diving instead. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 80th minute of the game. One of Lochwiesen FSV:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Strodthagen FSV:s goal. Walter Gauderer scored 3-0 in the 90th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Enrico Trede, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The supporters of Strodthagen FSV booed when Lochwiesen FSV was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Werner Frey didn't get a good kick on the ball.
