Peter-Michael Labauve hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. Justin Jannasch's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Joseph Obladen read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 8th minute of play. If Justin Jannasch had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Justin Jannasch sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Hertha BSC getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Radenko Harms hit a great ball. After 22 played minutes Rafael Finkel rounded Hertha BSC's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-0. Joseph Obladen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rafael Finkel, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. In the 29th minute, Gerspoint's Sebastian Drewniak ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Joseph Obladen. Joseph Obladen yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. Justin Jannasch could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 31st minute of the match, but Joseph Obladen made a huge save. The crowd rose to their feet as Sebastian Drewniak kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Joseph Obladen. That made the score 3-0 in the 33 minute of play. The referee gave Gerspoint a penalty, 43 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Elmar Fusten, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Hertha BSC's Joseph Obladen. 4-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Rafael Finkel made a kick off. In the 58th minute, Erik Schwer hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gerspoint's Elmar Fusten couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 59th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Hertha BSC. In the 63rd minute Justin Jannasch shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joseph Obladen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Justin Jannasch in the 67th minute of play forced Hertha BSC's goalkeeper Joseph Obladen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hertha BSC's Joseph Obladen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rafael Finkel in the 72nd minute of play. In the 78thth minute of the game Justin Jannasch who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Hertha BSC's Joseph Obladen was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Stephan Irmscher during the 79th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Sebastian Drewniak sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Peter-Michael Labauve fell near the penalty area in the 90th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Hertha BSC's protests and gave Peter-Michael Labauve a yellow card for diving instead. In the 90th minute, Peter-Michael Labauve hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After taking down the ball on Gerspoint's corner Henning Overath fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Joseph Obladen quite easily take care of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rafael Finkel in the 96th minute of play forced Hertha BSC's goalkeeper Joseph Obladen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gerspoint walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
