The referee ignored Seth's protests and gave Friedrich von Platen a yellow card for diving instead. Friedrich von Platen kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. Bruno Schrodt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ephraim Balog in the 13th minute of play. Bruno Schrodt made a fantastic save in the 14th minute, when Hinrik Tiedemann sent off a good shot on target. Gert Lege hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Hinrik Tiedemann got free with Bruno Schrodt in the 24th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a little luck, Seth's Bruno Schrodt got control of the ball when Hinrik Tiedemann tried to sneak it across the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Berthold Kunze during the 29th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Peer Baldmann to strike the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Seth booed when Hamburger SV was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Till Hofmann didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ephraim Balog in the 70th minute of play forced Seth's goalkeeper Bruno Schrodt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rodrigo Thillmann received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Mathias Brabant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hinrik Tiedemann received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute.
