Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Albert Bethge started the match with the kick off. Ralf Kilders didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Albert Bethge went, in the 8th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Albert Bethge blasted a shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ralf Kilders having to make a save. If Albert Bethge had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hellmuth Schrade was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 19 minutes into the match. After 19 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Mönchengladbach! The referee gave Kurdistan United a penalty, 21 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Ulrich Bowermann, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Mönchengladbach's Ralf Kilders. 0-2. Albert Bethge's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ralf Kilders read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 24th minute of play. In the 29th minute Albert Bethge shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ralf Kilders saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ralf Kilders showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Albert Bethge, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Ulrich Bowermann was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 45th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. When Albert Bethge came up free with the goalie in the 48th minute, the Kurdistan United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Albert Bethge couldn't finish the play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

After a rather tough play, Kurdistan United's Anton Hamann got a free kick in the 54th minute. 59 minutes into the match, Mönchengladbach's Egidius Grimminger sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Klemens Lunau narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 59th match minute, Kurdistan United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Moritz Warnke to maneuver through the defense. Egidius Grimminger sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 67 minutes into the match, Mönchengladbach's goal looked a bit too open when Albert Bethge came free, but Ralf Kilders reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jamie Kieckbusch received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Ralf Kilders tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Albert Bethge had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ralf Kilders was a little too slow when Albert Bethge got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 80th minute. The score was now 0-4. When the match had gone on for 83 minutes, Albert Bethge took a quick shot and it went in 0-5 without a chance for Ralf Kilders to make any attempt to save it. 86 minutes into the match, Mönchengladbach's goalkeeper Ralf Kilders had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jamie Kieckbusch. Klemens Lunau showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Egidius Grimminger in the 93rd minute of the match. Albert Bethge kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. Egidius Grimminger fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Klemens Lunau having to interfere.
