Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Martin Kwast started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Erasmus Viehl hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. Wilhelm Blecken acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 5th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Otto Lenzen. Otto Lenzen was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 11th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 13th minute, Rigobert Nass managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Southampton's supporters rose to their feet, but Rigobert Nass was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Wilhelm Blecken breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Börje Steinebrunner hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. Herriehausen's Wilhelm Blecken proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 16th minute of the match, managed to save Herriehausen from getting a goal against them. When FC Southampton's Rigobert Nass in 17 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Wilhelm Blecken guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. Andrew Hubig showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Erasmus Viehl, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. If Hannes Bresack had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Martin Kwast fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Andrew Hubig having to interfere. In the 26th minute Hannes Bresack shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Andrew Hubig saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Martin Kwast had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Martin Kwast's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Andrew Hubig was relentless in the 29th minute of the game. If Martin Kwast had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 36 played minutes FC Southampton got a freekick which was hit by Gregor Fach. Andrew Hubig took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hannes Bresack, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in FC Southampton's zone, Hannes Bresack stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Andrew Hubig came out of the goal and Hannes Bresack tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 42nd minute, Martin Kwast left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Herriehausen fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. The FC Southampton players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Herriehausen were winning 0-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Rigobert Nass made a kick off. The goalkeeper, Andrew Hubig, was totally fooled by Herriehausen's Roberto Gerster, who 55 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Martin Kwast in the 62nd minute of play forced FC Southampton's goalkeeper Andrew Hubig to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Andrew Hubig was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Martin Kwast showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-3 in the 67 minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Emilio Kern during the 72nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 73rd match minute, FC Southampton was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Emilio Kern to maneuver through the defense. Emilio Kern scored 1-3 in the 78th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Wilhelm Blecken, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After having played for 81 minutes, Martin Kwast managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Herriehausen's supporters crossed their fingers, but Martin Kwast was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, FC Southampton's Emilio Kern got a free kick in the 82nd minute. Martin Kwast fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Andrew Hubig having to interfere. Andrew Hubig made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Martin Kwast in the 89th minute of play. Wolf Godenschwengen's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Wilhelm Blecken read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 93rd minute of play. Herriehausen's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
